Post 6: Postgraduate Studies.
The truth is that thinking about a postgraduate degree is not something I think about repeatedly but it is something that I have considered. One of the main reasons why I plan to obtain a postgraduate degree is to specialize in a certain area that I really like, since this way I could develop more easily and obtain more tools to work in the future. This is why what I would like to study after finishing my degree is community psychology or specialize in the area of gender, since they are topics that I really like a lot and that also address problems that in my opinion are fundamental to solve. Community psychology draws my attention because it has a much broader approach, also observes the subjects and the social context, on the other hand, I would like to delve into gender theories because one of my goals is to work in that area.
Personally, studying in Chile is not a problem, but if I could and were given the opportunity to study abroad, it would be something super interesting. What if I would like to be able to study it in a part-time course, since that way I could manage the times to be able to work while I study to pay the fee. I think it would be a very good complement for Social Work to develop myself in those areas.
I find the gender theories interesting!
